WSBC Delegates/Representatives Selection Timing

Delegates and alternates should be selected at least seventy days before the annual Conference, and the names forwarded immediately upon selection to the World Service Office of Overeaters Anonymous. OA, Inc. Bylaws, Art. VIII, §3(c)(5).

WSBC Delegates/Representatives Qualifications

If by reason of vacancy or inability to attend, there is an insufficient number of eligible Delegates/Representatives to attend, GSI may select temporary replacement(s), provided that those Delegates or Representatives meet the eligibility requirements specified in the bylaws of OA, Inc., Subpart B and Region One, respectively.

Both Region One and GSI impose no requirements above and beyond those specified in the bylaws of OA, Inc. Greater Seattle Intergroup Bylaws, Art. IV, §(A)(5)(d); OA Region One Bylaws, Art. IX, §4.

The Bylaws of OA, Inc. specify in relevant part that the qualifications for selection of World Service delegates/alternates shall be set by the intergroup, provided that each delegate/alternate shall have: (1) at least one year of current abstinence; and (2) at least two years of service beyond the group level. OA, Inc. Bylaws, Art. VIII, §3(c)(1).

Alternate WSBC Delegate/Representative Selection

WSBC Delegate/Representative Job Description

WSBC Delegates/Representatives shall: (1) attend monthly Intergroup meetings to give regular and required reports of activities; (2) attend the annual World Business Conference and Region One Assembly as a voting delegate/representative, when designated; (3) assist and serve an assigned number of groups within the Intergroup; (4) actively maintain any committee duties assigned at WSBC or Region One
Assembly; (5) help determine financial needs and travel expenses for delegates/ representatives; (6) spread/provide experience, strength, hope, counsel, guidance, and assistance to GSI OA meetings as assigned by Chair as needed and/or requested; (7) meet with other Delegates/Representatives and members prior to WSBC and Assembly to help determine the wishes of the Fellowship; (8) maintain and

Alternate WSBC Delegate/Representative Job Description

Alternate WSBC Delegates/Representatives shall: (1) assume the responsibilities of the delegate/rep. in the event of delegate/rep.’s unavailability at the WSBC and/or Region One Assembly; and (2) be an active member of the Events Committee.
